Rocky Descent
Rocky Descent is an audio-reactive visualizer in BeamTracer Audio Visualizers, built on WebGPU. Settings, audio modulation, presets, and tips.
Rocky Descent travels through a continuously evolving rocky passage with rotating mineral colors. Bass opens and heaves the rock, mids shear its layers, and highs add gravel and glints. The default look keeps depth blur off so you can follow the changing surface. Use STRATA WEATHERING to change the evolution, DESCENT RATE for travel speed, and MINERAL HUE to offset the rotating palette. DEPTH OF FIELD, FOCUS DISTANCE, and FOCUS RANGE add selective softness. For edge accents or repeating patterns, use the shared effects rack.
Open Rocky Descent
Launch the visualizer with its matching left-nav entry selected.
Quick start
- Start the demo track, choose a local audio file, or enable a live input.
- Try a preset or style first, then open the section for the part of the image you want to change.
- On a control with Assign modulation, open the source picker, choose a signal, and watch the slider's live fill.
- Use Reset to Defaults whenever you want to return to the original look.
Presets and styles
Rocky Descent · Basalt Chute · Copper Fault · Glacier Crevasse · Dustfall · Lunar Quarry
How do I share a factory look?
Open SHARE A LOOK, choose a preset from FACTORY LOOK, and select COPY LOOK LINK. The link opens that original preset with its audio reactions. Personal slider edits and music are not included. Use OPEN LOOK to preview what the recipient will see.
How do I share my edited look?
Open SHARE A LOOK, select PREPARE MY LOOK, then choose COPY MY LOOK LINK. The link includes your current visual settings, modulation routes, and generator settings. Music is not included. Use OPEN MY LOOK to preview the result. Prepare a new link after making more edits.
Audio modulation
On a control with Assign modulation, select the activity icon to open Modulate with. Choose a named source, or choose — None to leave the control unmodulated. After you assign one, its name appears below the slider; select that name to edit the route, or use Clear modulation to remove it. The slider track shows the live signal reaching the control.
| Modulated control | Section | What the route changes |
|---|---|---|
| Strata Weathering | Geology | Sets how strongly the continuously shifting strata reshape ledges and broken faces. |
| Bass Rock Heave | Geology | Sets the broad bass-driven lift of shelves and overhangs. |
| Mid Strata Shear | Geology | Sets the opposing sideways slip of adjacent bedding layers. |
| High Gravel Scatter | Geology | Sets fine surface breakup and scattered gravel highlights driven by upper frequencies. |
| Beat Fracture | Geology | Sets how far each beat-driven fault front slips through the strata. |
| Treble Glint | Minerals | Sets the local mineral sparkle revealed by high frequencies. |
| Mineral Hue | Minerals | Offsets the mineral palette while preserving colored rock contrast. |
| Centroid Mineral Shift | Minerals | Sets how far spectral brightness moves seams between cool and warm color. |
| Roughness | Minerals | Sets how sharply light reflects from the faceted rock; lower values make mineral faces glossier. |
| Glow Power | Minerals | Sets the strength of height-selected mineral emission without brightening the entire frame. |
| Emission Curve | Minerals | Sets how tightly emission concentrates on the tallest mineral ridges; higher values isolate fewer peaks. |
| Descent Rate | Descent | Sets how quickly the view travels down the faulted passage. |
| Gorge Width | Descent | Sets the average open space between the unequal rock walls. |
| Bass Passage | Descent | Sets how strongly bass pressure opens and closes the navigable route. |
| Kick Shock | Descent | Sets the brief local pressure-front jolt released by each beat. |
| Flux Path Drift | Descent | Sets how far changing music bends the passage route over time. |
| Exposure | Output | Sets scene brightness while preserving contrast across the passage. |
| Depth of Field | Output | Sets view-depth blur away from the focus plane; 0 keeps the full passage sharp. |
| Focus Distance | Output | Moves the sharp focus plane forward or deeper through the passage. |
| Focus Range | Output | Sets how far rock can sit from the focus plane before becoming fully blurred. |

Tips for a better audio visualization
- Try assigning Bass to Strata Weathering, then compare Mid, High, and Volume while the demo track plays. The slider's live fill shows the signal reaching that control.
