Particles

Spirals

Ride a morphing particle spiral into a 3D tunnel with waveform filaments, directional motion bloom, six camera views, and nine presets.

Default demo track · live audio-reactive settings

Spirals is a particle-driven audio-reactive scene in the Particles category. Thousands of particles trace a morphing spiral that stretches into a deep 3D tunnel, with glowing filaments linking the arm, the live waveform rippling outward along it, and a directional motion bloom smearing the highlights. Spirals requires WebGPU; see Browser Support for current platform details.

Depth, filaments, and motion bloom

Depth Stretch pulls the flat spiral into a tunnel the camera can enter, and the circle mode becomes a glowing coil tube. The filaments stitch neighboring particles into continuous ribbons so the arm reads as a solid thread of light, and the live waveform visibly travels outward along it — faster with a higher Wave Travel. The motion bloom adds a directional smear on top of the glow: at 0 it is a classic round halo, and higher Stretch values pull the highlights into diagonal light trails.

Mouse-drag orbits the camera; a few seconds after you release, it drifts back to the selected view.

Quick start

  1. Start the demo track, choose a local audio file, or enable a live input.
  2. Try a preset or style first, then open the section for the part of the image you want to change.
  3. On a control with Assign modulation, open the source picker, choose a signal, and watch the slider's live fill.
  4. Use Reset to Defaults whenever you want to return to the original look.

Audio modulation

On a control with Assign modulation, select the activity icon to open Modulate with. Choose a named source, or choose — None to leave the control unmodulated. After you assign one, its name appears below the slider; select that name to edit the route, or use Clear modulation to remove it. The slider track shows the live signal reaching the control.

Modulated controlSectionWhat the route changes
IntensityMaterialSets how far the waveform trace displaces the arm.
Particle SizeMaterialSets the visible particle size.
MagnificationMaterialControls magnification; higher values increase the effect and lower values reduce it.
Depth StretchMaterialStretches the spiral into a 3D tunnel; 0 keeps the classic flat disc.
OpacityFilamentsSets how strongly the filaments glow.
StrengthMotion BloomSets how strongly highlights bloom.
Rotation SpeedAnimationSets how quickly rotation changes or moves.

Some controls appear only after you enable a related mode or style. The settings panel always reflects the options available for the current selection.

Tips for a better audio visualization

  • Switch to the INSIDE view with a high Depth Stretch and the SURGE path for a fly-through tunnel; CORE keeps the classic head-on spiral.
  • Raise Stretch in Motion Bloom on slow tracks — the diagonal smear reads like long-exposure light trails.
