Spectrum Sphere

A reflective audio-reactive disco ball with organic spring motion, purple light arrays, clearcoat finishes, and five reflection worlds.

Spectrum Sphere is a reflective disco-ball instrument in the Spheres category. Hundreds of individually separated mirror facets react to the track in organic waves, return to the globe at an adjustable speed, and catch a configurable purple light show. Four complete presets range from sharp radial rhythm to wing, petal, and rounded-cluster movement. Spectrum Sphere requires WebGPU; see Browser Support for current platform details.

Faceted disco-ball styles

Hedgehog sends compact radial ridges around the ball. Angel Wings opens paired lobes across opposite sides. Lotus Bloom layers petal-like bands around the surface. Popcorn creates softer rounded clusters. Each style moves both inward and outward so the composition stays centered as the track changes.

Purple Nebula surrounds the ball with amethyst cloud banks and deep star-filled negative space. Club 360, Deep Space, and Sunny Day offer alternate reflection worlds, while Off keeps the surroundings black.

The Chaos key-light path loops around the globe with an uneven vertical rhythm. Halo keeps a steady circular track, while Figure 8 crosses the reflection over the center. The VU Light Array adds stacked purple, magenta, and blue reflections that move across the facets without placing visible lines in the scene.

Quick start

  1. Start the demo track, choose a local audio file, or enable a live input.
  2. Try a preset or style first, then open the section for the part of the image you want to change.
  3. On a control with Assign modulation, open the source picker, choose a signal, and watch the slider's live fill.
  4. Use Reset to Defaults whenever you want to return to the original look.

Audio modulation

On a control with Assign modulation, select the activity icon to open Modulate with. Choose a named source, or choose — None to leave the control unmodulated. After you assign one, its name appears below the slider; select that name to edit the route, or use Clear modulation to remove it. The slider track shows the live signal reaching the control.

Some controls appear only after you enable a related mode or style. The settings panel always reflects the options available for the current selection.

Tips for a better audio visualization

  • Start with Chrome and Purple Nebula, then lower Roughness for sharper strips of colored light across the facets.
  • Keep Displacement routed to Volume so the Perlin motion follows the whole mix, then use Return Speed to choose how quickly the facets reform the globe.
