Ring of Fire

Dive through a glowing spiral of fire with Ring of Fire. The spiral zooms forever through swirling flames: bass swells it, mids stir the flames, highs add flicker and sparks, and every beat flares the spiral and pushes the zoom forward.

Ring of Fire is a bright spiral of fire on a dark field, with a white-hot line along its center and an orange glow around it. The spiral zooms toward its center without end while fine, curling wisps of flame drift and churn around it on their own. It answers the music in layers: bass swells the spiral's glow, mids speed up the flames and their swirl, highs add flicker and sparks, and every beat flares the spiral and gives the zoom a smooth push. With no music playing it keeps drifting on its own. Start with Ring of Fire, try Inferno for a two-armed golden blaze, Ember Drift for a slow, smoldering spiral, or Plasma Coil, Frost Spiral and Toxic Vortex for violet, blue and green fire.

Audio modulation

On a control with Assign modulation, select the activity icon to open Modulate with. Choose a named source, or choose — None to leave the control unmodulated. After you assign one, its name appears below the slider; select that name to edit the route, or use Clear modulation to remove it. The slider track shows the live signal reaching the control.

Modulated controlSectionWhat the route changes
Zoom SpeedShapeHow fast the endless zoom travels through the spiral. At 0 the spiral holds still while the flames keep moving.
HeatLightHow brightly the whole fire burns, from faint embers to a blazing spiral.
Core WidthLightHow wide the white-hot core of the spiral glows.
Flow SpeedFlameHow fast the flames churn and drift.
SwirlFlameHow strongly the flames curl into eddies. Low values give long smooth wisps; high values tangle them into tight curls.
Flame DensityFlameHow closely packed the flames are. Low values give a few broad tongues of fire; high values fill the frame with fine filaments.

Shape

SettingAvailable valuesWhat it changes
Arms1–4How many arms of fire the spiral has, from one long arm to four.
Spiral Tightness0.15–1.5How tightly the spiral winds. Low values open it into wide sweeping turns; high values coil it into many close rings.
Zoom Speed0–1.5How fast the endless zoom travels through the spiral. At 0 the spiral holds still while the flames keep moving. Use Assign modulation to choose a source.
Zoom DirectionIN, OUTIN dives toward the center of the spiral; OUT pulls back away from it.

Background

SettingAvailable valuesWhat it changes
Background Opacity0–1How solid the dark field behind the fire is. At 0 only the spiral and its flames remain over whatever is behind the visualizer.

Some controls appear only after you enable a related mode or style. The settings panel always reflects the options available for the current selection.

Tips for a better audio visualization

  • Lower Background Opacity to 0 to keep only the spiral and its flames over a video or another visualizer.
  • For a calmer look, lower Zoom Speed and Flow Speed and raise Detail; for a club drop, raise Beat Flare so every kick flares the spiral.
