4 · Frame

Pick the platform and aspect ratio for your Studio video, and trim the exact slice of the track that renders.

FRAME decides the shape of the output and how much of the track goes into it.

Platform

In WIZARD the choice is named by where the video is going:

PlatformAspectOutput
YOUTUBE16:9 · wide1920 × 1080
INSTAGRAM1:1 · squareSquare frame
SHORTS · REELS · TIKTOK9:16 · tallVertical frame
SPOTIFY CANVAS9:16 · tallVertical frame

Switching platform re-shapes the preview immediately, so you can see what a vertical crop does to your layout before you commit. Layers keep their percentage positions, so most of the work carries over — but check that nothing important has drifted off the edge.

Aspect

ADVANCED shows the same choices as raw aspect ratios — 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, and CANVAS — each labelled with the platform it suits. 4:5 is the Instagram feed shape.

The FRAME step in Advanced — aspect choices and the export trim controls

Prepare for social media clip

By default the whole track exports. ADVANCED adds two ways to cut a slice instead:

TRIM FOR EXPORT

Turn it on and a green box appears on the waveform. That box is exactly what will render — drag it along the transport to choose which part of the song you want. The gear icon on the box opens the trim controls if you would rather type exact times.

LOUDEST 15S

Finds the loudest fifteen seconds of the track and sets the export slice there. It is the one-click answer to "what part do I use for the teaser" — the busiest passage is usually the one that survives a fifteen-second scroll.

Leave both off and the export uses the entire track.

The EXPORT summary always reports whether the audio is trimmed, so you can confirm before rendering.

Spotify Canvas

Canvas is a short vertical loop that plays behind a track in Spotify. Spotify's own requirements are the ones that matter at upload: a vertical 9:16 video, 3 to 8 seconds long, 720 to 1080 pixels tall, looping, with no audio.

Choosing SPOTIFY CANVAS does three things at once:

  • reframes the canvas to 9:16;
  • auto-selects eight seconds of the track, shown as the green box on the waveform — drag the box to choose a different eight seconds;
  • sets the export to a silent 608 × 1080 MP4 at 30 fps, so you cannot ship audio or a 16:9 file by accident. The 4K resolution is disabled for Canvas — Spotify rejects anything taller than 1080 pixels.

Choose a passage whose motion starts and ends in a similar place so the loop does not jump, and keep the bottom third clear — Spotify draws the track name, artist, and player controls there.
