How to share feedback, report bugs, and request features across all BeamTracer apps.
Your feedback directly shapes the future of BeamTracer. Whether you've found a bug, have an idea for a new feature, or just want to tell us what's working well — we want to hear it.
Sending Feedback
A feedback button is available on every page across all BeamTracer apps (BT Laser Studio, OSC-1 Oscilloscope, Audio Visualizers, and Studio).
- Click the chat bubble icon in the top-right header bar
- Select your persona — this helps us understand your perspective:
- VJ — live show workflows, latency, MIDI
- DJ / Producer — audio analysis, visualizer accuracy, oscilloscope music
- Laserist — ILDA export, DAC output, safety tooling
- Creator — video export, visual quality, social media
- Sound Designer — synthesis, audio routing, modulation
- Hobbyist — general usability and first impressions
- Choose a category: Feature Request, Bug Report, or General Feedback
- Write your message and click Send
You don't need an account to send feedback. All submissions are anonymous unless you choose to include contact information in your message.
What Happens to Your Feedback
Every submission is reviewed by the BeamTracer team. Here's how we process it:
- Bug reports are triaged and prioritized. Critical bugs that affect audio playback, MIDI, or rendering are treated as P0 (highest priority).
- Feature requests are evaluated against the product roadmap. Popular requests get prioritized.
- General feedback informs design iterations. If multiple users report the same friction point, it moves up the queue.
As we ship improvements based on your feedback, they're documented in the Changelog. You can check there to see if your suggestion has been implemented.
Privacy
Feedback is stored locally on your device first. It syncs when you are online. We collect:
- Your message and selected persona/category
- The app and page URL where feedback was submitted
- Your browser's user-agent string (for debugging browser-specific issues)
We do not collect your name, email, IP address, or any personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily include it in your message.
If you want a response to your feedback, include your email or social handle in the message body. Otherwise, watch the Changelog for updates inspired by community feedback.
