Account & Settings
Configure your BeamTracer experience — audio devices, MIDI controllers, display, export defaults, and billing
Your global settings page at /account controls preferences that apply across all three BeamTracer apps. Changes take effect immediately — there is no save button.
Choose a tab in the left sidebar to view one settings section at a time. Your current tab stays in the page address, so direct links such as Privacy or Billing open in the right place.
Sections
Account
Your profile information, subscription plan, and work role. The display name and role selection help BeamTracer personalize your experience.
Work roles include VJ, DJ/Producer, Laserist, Creator, Sound Designer, Hobbyist, and Other. Your selection is used for feedback categorization and future feature recommendations.
Sign out everywhere appears directly below the work-role choices and ends your BeamTracer sessions on every device.
Audio
Configure your preferred audio input and output devices. These settings apply globally — when you switch between Laser Studio, OSC-1, and Audio Visualizers, your selected devices persist.
The default sample rate (44.1kHz, 48kHz, 96kHz, or 192kHz) affects audio fidelity across all apps. 48kHz is recommended for most workflows. Higher rates improve clarity for oscilloscope music and high-resolution audio but use more CPU.
MIDI
Set your preferred MIDI device, default MIDI channel, and APC Mini MK2 support toggle. When MIDI Learn is triggered in any app, these defaults apply.
Web MIDI works directly in Chrome and Edge. Firefox supports it after a one-time site-permission add-on; Safari does not support it. See Browser Support for details.
Display & Performance
Set your timezone, choose your GPU renderer preference (Auto, WebGPU, or WebGL), enable reduced motion for accessibility, or activate performance mode for lower-end hardware.
Timezone sets the default time zone for every clock visualizer. Leave it on Automatic to follow your device's time zone, or pick any zone from the list. Individual clocks can still override this from their own TIME ZONE control (set it to a specific city or UTC). Your choice persists and syncs across devices.
Reduced motion disables scroll animations, parallax effects, and transitions across all apps and the landing page. This respects the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guideline for users with vestibular disorders.
Performance mode reduces visual detail to maintain steadier frame rates on less powerful hardware.
Export
Set your default file format and quality for screenshots and video recording.
Image exports support JPEG (with adjustable quality slider) and PNG. Video exports support WebM (VP9 for quality) and MP4 (H.264 for compatibility).
Video resolution is gated by your subscription tier:
| Tier | Max Resolution |
|---|---|
| Free | 1080p (watermarked) |
| Pro | 1080p |
| Bundle | 4K |
| Studio | 4K |
Privacy
Control anonymous product analytics and product update emails.
Analytics covers a small set of first-party signals for setup, sign-in reliability, app, tool, and visualizer opens, personal visualizer star choices, successful exports, and return use. Setup answers are limited to the fixed choices shown on screen. We do not send free text, email addresses, filenames, project content, credentials, or audio. Product activity uses a random browser id and is read only as aggregate totals; when signed in, an internal account id may also be attached to an event. There is no person-level activity view. Turning this off stops these events from being sent at all.
See the Privacy Policy for the full picture of what is collected.
Export My Data downloads a JSON copy of every BeamTracer setting stored in the current browser. When you are signed in, the file also includes your synced profile and account settings.
Delete Account in the Danger Zone permanently removes your account and cloud-synced settings after you sign in recently and type the on-screen confirmation. Any active subscription stops renewing. BeamTracer data stored in the current browser—including settings, presets, mappings, custom models, SVGs, and skins—is also cleared. A confirmation email is sent when possible; the privacy contact form remains available for exceptional or email-driven requests.
If a payment is still pending or subscription status cannot be verified, your account stays in place. Follow the message to try again later or contact support.
Billing
View your current plan, payment method, and invoice history. Manage your subscription through the Stripe Customer Portal.
Your Pro App — if you are on a Pro plan, a card in this section (Account → Billing) shows which app your plan currently unlocks and lets you switch it. Switching is allowed once per billing cycle.
Renewal reminders — we email you about 3 days before a monthly renewal and 30 days before an annual renewal. The notice includes your plan, renewal date, expected charge when available, and how to cancel.
Cancel Plan — a dedicated row at the bottom of the Billing section. You can cancel anytime; your access continues until the end of the billing period.
See Pricing for a full comparison of Free, Pro, Bundle, and Studio tiers.
