BeamTracer offers four subscription tiers. Free can open all three apps with free-tier features, Pro unlocks full access to one app of your choice, and Bundle and Studio unlock all three.

Tier Overview

ILDA Export: every tier below Studio gets 3 clean exports per calendar month, resetting on the 1st. They are shared across every ILDA download button in OSC-1 and Laser Studio, and they are clean — what you test on your projector is exactly what you would get on Studio. Studio exports are clean and unlimited.

Three rather than one because the question a laser file has to answer is will this work with my DAC and my projector, and that usually takes more than one attempt.

The allowance needs a free account — it is tracked against your profile rather than your browser, so it follows you between devices and survives clearing your history. The ILDA Viewer is free for everyone with no account at all.

3D Beam Viewer: every mode can currently be selected as a preview. The selector labels the plan that owns each mode and shows an upgrade prompt; Free previews carry the BeamTracer watermark.

Tier Details

Free

All three apps are fully usable with limited features. No credit card required, no signup wall. Start creating immediately and upgrade when you need more.

Free includes 5 presets per app, 1080p video export with a small "made with BeamTracer.com" watermark, and access to all core tools across Laser Studio, OSC-1, and Audio Visualizers.

Video exports are limited to 10 per app each calendar month, resetting on the 1st. Only a finished export counts — building your composition, previewing it, and playing it back are unlimited and never counted. Your first export needs no account at all; after that, a free account keeps your allowance with you instead of with one browser.

Studio and the Audio Visualizers share one counter — so a Free account gets 10 exports for Visualizers and Studio together, 10 for OSC-1, and 10 for Laser Studio.

Video and clean ILDA exports are not trial credits — they are monthly allowances that reset on the 1st, listed in the table above. You can see everything you have left, and which kind it is, in Account → Billing → Your Allowances.

Pro — $12/month ($99/year)

Full access to one app of your choice. Unlocks 50 presets, 1080p video export without watermark, cloud sync across devices, AI-powered features (Beam Creator, ILDA diagnostics), and commercial use rights.

Pro is ideal for creators focused on a single workflow — laser content creation, oscilloscope music, or audio visualization.

Bundle — $24/month ($199/year)

Full access to all three apps. Everything in Pro, plus 100 presets, 4K video export, and Translucent, Galvo, and Haze beam modes in the 3D Beam Viewer.

Bundle is the best value for creators who work across multiple tools — VJs who also do laser content, or producers who want both visualizers and oscilloscope output.

Studio — $39/month ($349/year)

Everything in Bundle, plus hardware integration: real-time laser DAC output (Helios, Ether Dream, LaserCube), ILDA file export, Cinema beam mode, and unlimited presets and MIDI mappings.

Studio is built for working laser operators, professional VJs, and production companies who need hardware output and maximum creative control.

You can try every 3D Beam Viewer mode before upgrading. A mode above your current paid plan is labelled PREVIEW on the viewer until that mode is included with your plan; included modes render without the preview mark.

The billing promise

How BeamTracer handles the boring parts of a subscription — renewal reminders about 3 days before monthly charges and 30 days before annual charges, self-serve cancellation effective at period end, no credit system, exports that stay yours, and exactly what survives a downgrade — is stated in one place: the billing promise on the pricing page. The one nuance worth repeating here: your presets and settings survive a downgrade to Free, and MIDI/OSC mappings stay unlimited on every tier, but persisting mappings between sessions is a paid-plan feature — on Free they last for the session only.

FAQ

Can I switch tiers? Cancelling is always self-serve from Account → Billing and you keep access to the end of the period. Switching to a different plan isn't self-serve yet: cancel and subscribe to the new plan when the period ends, or reply to any BeamTracer email and we'll move you directly.

Which app does Pro unlock? You choose during checkout. You can change your Pro app selection once per billing cycle.

Is there a free trial of paid tiers? Every Free account includes one-time trial credits for premium features — see the trial credits table under Free above (AI Beam Creator, AI Frame Analysis, Studio AI Backdrop, Studio Lyric Auto-Detect, Scene Sequencer, Advanced Modulation, 4K export, and Laser DAC). They let you experience Pro, Bundle, and Studio features before subscribing. Video and clean ILDA exports work differently — those are monthly allowances that reset on the 1st rather than one-time credits. You can see exactly what you have left at any time in Account → Billing → Your Allowances. Beyond that, the Free tier is fully functional with no time limit.

Do you offer perpetual licenses? Not currently. Subscription-only ensures continuous updates and new features.

What happens if I cancel? Your access continues until the end of the billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free tier. Your presets and settings are preserved.

Do you offer refunds? Every account includes free trial credits to evaluate premium features before subscribing, so paid plans are non-refundable except where required by law. Cancel anytime — access continues to the end of the billing period and you won't be charged again. We'll still resolve duplicate or accidental charges.
