How do I put Performer presets in order for a live set?
To arrange presets for a live set, open BeamTracer Audio Visualizers in PERFORMER, open PRESETS, and use the pencil button to drag the cards into a custom order. Save with the checkmark, then rehearse the sequence with your music. Check the displayed order before relying on MIDI Program Change to select a look.
Hi, I'm Trina with BeamTracer.com. Finding the next look gets harder when you're listening for a transition at the same time. A little preparation helps: put the looks you expect to use near each other, then play through the awkward changes before the set.

Which presets should I put near the start?
Start with looks you can recognize quickly and have already tried with your music. The opening cards should earn their place through rehearsal. A favorite screenshot tells you less about a preset than hearing a quiet verse and a busy chorus while that preset plays.
Open Performer and use the mood filters to browse the factory library. Minimal can help you find a restrained starting point; Energetic gives you another group to compare. The preset guide explains the filters and saving your own settings.
Keep a fallback look nearby. Choose one that you can leave running while you deal with the audio input or display. Give custom presets names that describe the picture or the part of the set where you use them. Those names are for you, so a practical name is more useful than something that sounds impressive.

How do I save a custom preset order?
The pencil button in PRESETS enables dragging and switches the sort to CUSTOM. The checkmark saves your order. You can return to ORIGINAL later and still keep the saved custom arrangement available.
- Open Audio Visualizers, load a recorded rehearsal track, and select PERFORMER.
- Open PRESETS and find the cards you want to arrange.
- Click the pencil button, labeled Edit mode (drag to reorder) in its tooltip.
- Drag the cards into your intended order.
- Click the checkmark button, labeled Save custom order, then play the track and test your changes.
- For a separate video of a chosen look, use RENDER → RENDER VIDEO with the recorded track and select MP4 or WebM.
The last step exports a video of the selected look. Saving a preset order does not create a timed performance recording. If you need authored scenes and transitions, read the Scene Sequencer guide and rehearse that workflow separately.

How do I rehearse changes without changing the music?
Use the same recorded passage while you compare presets. Switch at a point you can find again, then listen and watch through the transition. Repeat with a quieter part of the track before deciding that a look belongs in the set.
A look that suits a loud chorus can feel crowded under a vocal. Try moving that preset later in your order, or save a gentler variation through SAVE AS PRESET under QUICK ACTIONS. The getting-started guide covers the performance interface.
Keep the rehearsal small enough that you can remember why you changed something. Adjust a preset, replay the passage, and decide whether the new version helps. If you alter several effects and the order at once, it's harder to know what improved the sequence.
Will MIDI Program Change use this order?
MIDI Program Change follows the preset display order, and program 0 selects the first tile. Changing the order can therefore change what a controller selects. Test your controller after arranging cards, using the same filtering and sorting you intend to use during the performance.
The MIDI guide explains the mapping. Open Performer Settings once after loading the page to connect MIDI, and check PROGRAM CHANGE → Channel for the intended channel. OFF ignores Program Change. Controller software sometimes displays program numbers differently, so confirm the actual selected tile instead of relying only on the number printed on a controller screen.
You can also click presets directly. Prepare the interface you will use, even when the controller mapping is familiar. A computer restart, different browser, or changed filter is a good reason to check the first selection again. If a reload opens Visualizer, select PERFORMER again, open PRESETS, and select CUSTOM to recall the saved order.
After reload, select Performer again if the browser opens Visualizer, then select CUSTOM in PRESETS. The saved card order remains available.
What should I check on the show computer?
Open Performer on the computer and browser you will use at the show, confirm the intended preset order, and test the music input. Use a supported WebGPU browser such as current Chrome or Edge; the browser guide lists the requirements. Browser permission and device selection still matter when the cards are arranged correctly.
Then check the display connection. The live DJ visuals guide covers input routing and clean output; this preset preparation fits inside that larger setup. Rehearse controller selections and visual changes with the actual input before depending on them during a set.
Open Performer, arrange your first few looks, and play through the passage where you expect to change them.
