How Do I Make 3D Text Merge with Shapes and Music?
In BeamTracer TYPE STACK, enter a short title, open LAYERS → ARRANGEMENT and choose TEXT + SHAPE FUSION. Choose a circle, box or diamond, then adjust FUSION AMOUNT and SHAPE SEPARATION. Assign Bass to separation to move the shape through the words with the music, and render the result as MP4 or WebM.
Hi, I'm Trina with BeamTracer.com. Start with a word you can read at a glance. As the shape moves across it, some letters merge into a solid patch; when it moves away, their outlines come back. A short title makes that change easier to follow.
Eight layers of MELT with CIRCLE, FUSION AMOUNT 1.00, SHAPE SIZE 0.90 and SHAPE SEPARATION assigned to Bass. The examples are silent.
How do I fuse editable text with a shape?
Choose TEXT + SHAPE FUSION as the arrangement, then open its matching section. FUSION AMOUNT grows a shape into the title, while SHAPE SEPARATION moves the shape from the title's center toward the right. The text stays editable through YOUR TEXT and FONT.
- Open Type Stack and expand TEXT.
- Enter a short word in YOUR TEXT and choose BOLD SANS under FONT.
- Open LAYERS → ARRANGEMENT and choose TEXT + SHAPE FUSION.
- Expand TEXT + SHAPE FUSION and choose FIELD SHAPE → CIRCLE.
- Raise FUSION AMOUNT, then move SHAPE SEPARATION to bring the shape into and out of the letters.
- Adjust CAMERA → DISTANCE until the whole title and separated shape fit.
- Choose RENDER, select MP4 · H.264 or WEBM · VP9, and use RENDER VIDEO, followed by SAVE VIDEO.
What changes when I choose circle, box or diamond?
FIELD SHAPE changes the outline that joins the letters. CIRCLE rounds the join, BOX adds a rectangular area, and DIAMOND gives it angled sides. Compare them at the same size and separation so you can see the difference in the letter edges.
CIRCLE, BOX and DIAMOND at FUSION AMOUNT 0.80, SHAPE SEPARATION 2.00 and SHAPE SIZE 0.70. The settings stay in view as the shape changes.
SHAPE SIZE changes the circle's radius or the box or diamond's half-width. A large shape can cover several letters. Reduce its size or move it farther away when the title needs to stay readable.
How do I pull the shape away and bring the letters back?
Increase SHAPE SEPARATION to move the shape rightward. As the shape moves past the title's edge, the joins narrow and the shape separates. Bring the slider back toward zero to merge it through the center again. FUSION AMOUNT → 0 removes the added shape entirely.
SHAPE SEPARATION moves 2 → 5 → 0 → 2 on the same running title. This walkthrough uses DISTANCE 18.50 to keep the separated shape in view.
Keep room for the shape
Moving the shape away can put it outside a close camera view. Increase CAMERA → DISTANCE before assuming it has disappeared. KEEP FRONT READABLE holds the front layer's placement; it doesn't stop Fusion from changing its letters.
How do I make the join softer?
Raise JOIN SOFTNESS to round the boundary where the shape meets the text. At zero, the join is sharp. Softness changes that shared boundary; SHAPE SIZE changes how much space the shape occupies.
JOIN SOFTNESS changes 0.40 → 0 → 1, with the shape's position and size held at the same settings.
The shape and letters form a shared solid surface. This is a geometric text treatment, not a fluid simulation. The existing layer spacing, extrusion, color and motion controls still change the sculpture around that surface.
How do I make the text fusion react to music?
Use Assign modulation beside FUSION AMOUNT or SHAPE SEPARATION, then choose Bass. Start the track and watch the slider's live fill. Amount controls how much of the shape grows into the word; separation controls where the shape sits. Assign one first so you can see what it contributes.
The opening recipe with DIAMOND instead of CIRCLE. SHAPE SEPARATION follows Bass; the existing layer-spacing, twist and surface-ripple assignments remain active.
Type Stack already assigns low notes to layer spacing, mids to twist and highs to surface ripple. Those movements can remain active alongside the fusion route. Use fewer layers or a lower SURFACE RIPPLE when you want a cleaner view of the join.
Can I export my own title animation?
Yes. RENDER includes your text, font, fusion arrangement and audio assignments. Use TEST RANGE → RENDER A SHORT RANGE for a sample, then wait for VIDEO READY and download with SAVE VIDEO. Try a seven-second range first, as in the opening example, before rendering the full track.
Type Stack accepts up to 48 characters over four lines and has four built-in fonts. Short, bold titles are the easiest starting point for this treatment. A browser and device with WebGPU support are required. The Type Stack reference explains the other arrangements, and the export guide covers output settings.
